JOB DESCRIPTION:

Incumbent interacts with users and technical staff to formulate and define system scope and objectives through identifying appropriate requirements.  Exhibits technical aptitude, as well as the ability to use the software development lifecycle to analyze business/user needs and document requirements.  Incumbent is able to work with a variety of individuals, including executives, technical staff, and subject matter experts.

  

Key Activities:

 

Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, and workflow analysis.

Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.

Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: functional requirements, use cases, screen and interface designs, etc.

Work with a team of business analysts, and under the direction of a project manager, to define concepts.

Serve as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements flow.

Develop requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language.

Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.

Be the liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams.

Qualifications:

·         Bachelor degree specializing in Business, Computer Science, or Management Information Systems or equivalent experience required.

·         Excellent analytical abilities.

·         Four to seven years business analysis experience.

-        Technical understanding of the software development lifecycle.

·         Proficient computer skills in programs including, but not limited to:  Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Internet, and e-mail programs.

·         Ability to perform independent tasks in a team environment.

·         Proven customer services skills.

·         Excellent written and oral communication skills.
