Purpose of the Position
ER Squared provides consulting services to the Bio / Pharma industry and associated service providers in the areas of clinical trial data management services, electronic data capture (EDC), e-clinical, and outsourcing.
The analyst position involves the employee in using process experience and knowledge in deploying software solutions to meet business challenges. The analyst will work as a member of a team with at least one experienced staff member who will supervise the work.
Overview
This position involves the employee in working directly with the clients of ER Squared and requires the employee to execute the assignment at client locations under the guidance of an experienced staff member.
Responsibilities
1. Analyze and document current business processes using process modeling tools, root cause analysis or other tools as appropriate.
2. Gather and document requirements for the proposed business model.
3. Identify, evaluate and recommend associated software solution and business process to meet the business requirements:
· Identify commercial vendors of service offering and/or software required.
· Develop request for proposal to solicit details of vendor offerings.
· Evaluate vendor offerings compared to business requirements.
· Evaluate vendor offerings compared to internal or custom built solutions.
· Analyze all options factoring in goodness of fit to requirements, cost to implement, time to implement, and total cost of ownership.
· Recommend best solution to fit client’s business requirements.
4. Review and validate the design of the proposed solution. This review may include analysis of:
· Appropriate utilization of technology
· Appropriate training and learning curve anticipated
· Appropriateness and reliability of assumptions
· Risk assessment and analysis
· Assessment of probability of completing project on time and within budget
5. Document Functional and Technical specifications for use by application developers and/or solution implementers.
6. Track the status of issues, scope changes, risks and quality concerns.
7. Track deliverables, budget, and timeline of the project.
8. Manage expectations between different groups in the project.
9. Coordinate support tasks provided by offshore partner.
10. Provide project management for implementation of recommended solution, including oversight of:
· Testing
· Implementation
· Documentation
· Communication Plan
· Rollout Plan
· Training
Requirements
· Bachelors in Information system, computer science or other related discipline.
· Five years of directly relevant experience, including:
o At least one year in software development and testing.
o At least one year experience in business requirement analysis and gathering.
· Candidate must possess excellent analytical and interpersonal skills along with a proven track record in system design and implementation.
· Technical Skills:
o Programming language proficiency in at least 2 of the following: C++, JavaScript, VB.Net, SAS, PL/SQL
o Database proficiency in at least 1 of the following: DB2, Oracle
o Operating System familiarity with at least 1 of the following: Unix, Windows, MVS
o Software Methodology familiarity with: Object Oriented Programming, Structured Programming
o Software Development Process familiarity with: Waterfall, Agile
o Office Tools proficiency required in : MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
o Office productivity tool proficiency in at least 1 of the following: Visio, MS Project, SharePoint
o Niche Clinical System knowledge is a plus in any of the following: Rave, Open Clinica, Inform, RDC, IMPACT, Clintrial, Oracle Clinical, Life Sciences Data Hub, SAS Drug Development, Argus, STAR LIMS
