The Bank’s Regulatory Reporting
Regulatory reporting is undergoing massive change, largely in response to the recent market turbulence and the greater focus banks are being given, making it an exciting and challenging area to work in.
The Bank’s BoE and Liquidity reporting team sits within Regulatory Reporting. The team currently provides:
• Investment Banking Liquidity Reporting
• BoE and Liquidity reporting.
• Statistical Returns required by the Bank of England
The Role
The role is to support the transition of the Bank’s Liquidity reporting onto strategic systems and deliver the period end reporting under FSA rules.
- Provide support to the change team and especially the Liquidity Programme delivery, for example:
- Detailed Gap analysis between DNB reporting and FSA reporting requirements
- Identification and closure of data gaps within existing reporting data
- Assist in identification and track resolution of data quality issues arising.
- Implementation of changes to FSA Liquidity Reporting requirements.
- Rapid resolution of issues arising within the live reporting.
• Assist with the production of regulatory returns via central data Reporting system:
• Production of DNB and FSA returns
oResponsibility for running and analysis of system specific reconciliations between reporting system and source systems.
oProvision and posting of adjustments arising form the reconciliations
oPeriod end reporting, analysis and commentary
• Assume Key roles in the implementation of changes to reporting requirements.
- Ensure application of a robust control environment by performing key checks and controls proving data completeness and consistency across and between outputs.
- Support production of specific period end reports, analysis and query resolution to challenging timelines leveraging support team in offshore locations.
• Support the development of a centre of excellence in technical Liquidity reporting regulations, especially around the impact of future changes on the business and reporting requirements.
- Build symbiotic relationships with Product control and the Businesses to deliver business reasons for material or unusual movements plus review and challenge.
Other Responsibilities
- Share team’s independent testing responsibilities for ensuring key controls are maintained across all outputs
- Maintenance and development of check lists, procedures and business process documentation
- Support the bank's change process and continuous improvement initiatives in BAU or arising from Projects
Essential Experience: (Must have skills)
- Qualified accountant.
- Experience of Banking environment or Treasury function
- Product knowledge covering Loans/Deposits, Repo, FX, Securities and Derivatives.
- Experience of working in an environment with a strong customer focus, with experience of pro-actively working with demanding customers in a flexible manner.
- Experience of delivering results in a fast moving, dynamic environment with proven ability to adapt and be responsive to changing customer, sponsor and stakeholder requirements.
- Previous experience of report production, analysis and provision of business commentary.
- Ability to be able to work with both detailed and summary level data in order to identify, understand and resolve key issues.
- Ability to adapt quickly to project related tasks and involvement in User Acceptance Testing.
- Proficient in Excel, MS Access or similar database applications.
- An aptitude and desire for working with IT or existing structured business analysis skills.
