Business Analyst – Market Risk IT recruitment
Risk IT develops and supports technology for the Risk business area to aggregate, measure, report and control credit and market risk within UBS. It is currently implementing a program to transform how market risk is managed within UBS by changing the business processes and the majority of mission critical applications supporting this function.
This role is for a highly skilled Risk Business Analyst within the UI and Workflow Delivery Team in Market Risk IT. The key objective of the UI and Workflow Team is to implement systems that present data to a variety of users within UBS including Risk Control Ops, Support Groups, Front Office and Market Risk Control (MRC). The systems must efficiently support business process and operating models, have simple navigation and provide data customized to the current user.
Job Description
As the successful candidate your job will involve working with:
- Senior Market Risk Business Leads to agree scope and direction of each phase of the program
- Market Risk Business Change Team and Market Risk Business Users in the working group to understand and analyze the requirements and review the proposed solution to ensure that it meets their expectations
- Business Analysts from Risk IT and other delivery teams including Front Office, Data IT and Finance to ensure end-to-end data flows are defined and incorporated in the functional design
- Architects to ensure the architecture of the solution is fit for purpose
- Software Developers to explain the front to back solution and ensure it meets specification
- Project Managers to prioritize and plan the delivery of multiple projects
- Quality Assurance staff to ensure the quality of the functional solution delivered
The Business Analyst acts as a bridge between the business and IT organization, and provides a central contact point during the design, development, test and implementation phases. You will be responsible for the business requirements, the functional analysis and design documentation and the quality of the end solution.
As a Business Analyst within Risk IT, you will need to have good client-facing skills and be comfortable working with the Front Office, Traders and users in Market Risk Control to define business requirements.
This is a broad and challenging role that requires a combination of market risk business, product and technical knowledge, coupled with strong client-facing and interpersonal skills.
Job Requirements
To be effective in this role you must:
- Have a good understanding of market risk management concepts and techniques - ideally work experience in a Market Risk Control or Risk IT function
- Investment Banking experience
- Have experience and skills in designing effective and sleek user interfaces and workflows
- Have strong analytical and communication skills
- Have good client-facing skills and be comfortable talking to Front Office and Traders
- Be structured and systematic in your approach
- Possess good understanding of the full project life cycle and of change management processes
- Have experience with data analysis and data quality issues
- Have experience of business analysis and modeling - ideally using UML
- Have experience of large strategic front to back systems and process redesign
- Have Oracle database skills
- Be able to prototype potential solutions with software developers
- Be confident to demonstrate functionality to business users
- Enjoy working to deadlines to realize the business benefits associated with IT projects
- Be able to multi-task and schedule workloads according to project priorities
- Be enthusiastic and highly motivated
Desirable experience includes:
- Experience in, or understanding of, user centric design
- Experience in supporting end-users during UAT
- Experience in leading user training
- Experience with tools for business analysis, change and defect management
- Knowledge of the agile project methodology
