Business Analyst, Officer recruitment

The NY Settlements Control team is in search of an Analyst to join their team. The candidate will report to the AVP for the group, and will be expected to be part of a team that will provide ongoing oversight and monitoring; validating the AXA BS Equity Team's actions against procedural guidelines for the recently migrated Equity Settlements functions. Additionally, the individual will also work on projects for the department.

Specific responsibilities may include but not be limited to:
•New Product development/rollout including analyzing and investigating new product and market analysis while facilitating AXA BS involvement at the earliest opportunity.
•Serving as the team lead for the New York based Project and Oversight team
•Work directly with operational IT support or business departments to represent the needs and requirements of the Settlements function in Company wide initiatives.
•Work with internal resources to support new functionality/initiatives within team. Upon completion determine when and how to transition to AXA.
•To act as a point of contact for the escalation and referral of more complex settlements issues, by AXA settlements, internal clients, Brokers and Custodians.
•SS Oversight to be responsible for the Coordination/ Management of Audit requests/review.
•Definition and collation of AXA produced information to support direct liaison with brokers and interested third parties/service providers, including active involvement in all service reviews. AXA to be included in meetings as required.
•Initially perform Daily Oversight of the settlement unit, including identification and management of regular review meetings in accordance with outsourcing policy.
•Ensuring adherence to policies and procedures, including those detailed in the Company's FRAG21, SAS70, SOXs and other relevant audit reports.
•Provide monthly assessment of AXA BS performance for senior management review.
•Perform sample Quality Control checks per documented QC's
•Ensure appropriate handling of failed trades by SS staff for any clients where sourcing is not allowed.
•Analysis and fault assessment of any interest claims/ Overdraft charges received from custodian banks, brokers and or clients, where AXA investigation has identified fault.
•Support and Initiate future strategy, team re-alignment, process flows and areas for efficiency gains

Skills

The ideal candidate should have 3 year plus experience in the finance industry or be a recent college graduate with a Bachelors degree in business administration, accounting, finance and/or economics.
The candidate should have very strong communication and analytical skills and be highly organized and detail-oriented.
The candidate should demonstrate proficiency in generating Excel spreadsheets.
