Business Analyst – OTC Derivatives and Settlements recruitment

IT Business Analyst Contract Opportunity. The successful candidate will have had experience working on a range or projects (small and large) within an Investment Banking environment.

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to work with our business partners to analyse requirements and produce functional specification documents. The successful candidate will be working on multiple projects at once so must demonstrate strong experience working on a variety of projects both small and large. Strong communication and organisation skills are crucial. The ideal candidate will have previously worked in an Investment Banking environment although this is not a prerequisite.

Duties will include the following:

- Proactively communicating and collaborating with subject matter experts and the operations project teams to analyze business requirements.
- Delivering and maintaining the following artifacts (and other documentation as required):
- Functional specifications (part of the Business Requirements and Functional Specifications Document).
- Use cases in collaboration with the Operations project teams.
- Traceability matrixes.
- Communicating business requirements and functional specifications to developers and testers in globally distributed locations.
- Working in close collaboration with the operations project teams and the IT project delivery managers to formulate appropriate plans for delivery of business functionality.
- Identifying and escalating risk relating to the gathering of requirements.
- Serving as a business subject matter expert and being a point person to support the development, testing and deployment phases from a business requirements perspective.
- Reviewing test plans and test cases to ensure that all the requirements have been properly interpreted and addressed by test cases.
- Progress reporting to IT project and delivery managers.

Skills Required

- Accurate, Tenacious and Delivery focused with an eye for detail and design
- Ability to express complex requirements using a variety of written, visual and spoken media
- Prior experience performing business analysis role on complex, multi-location technology projects in the investment banking industry Experience of working with business experts and developers in distributed locations
- The candidate may have at least two or more years experience in a business analysis role on IT projects
- Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to assimilate complex business problems and resolve ambiguous information into clearly articulated requirements
- Proven ability to develop and sustain strong working relationships with end users, technologists and project managers at all levels
- Understanding of full development lifecycle, and proven appreciation of the role of the business analyst
- Appreciation of document creation, review and maintenance cycle and ability to implement an effective document management strategy
 - Previous Financial Services experience

Skills Desired

- Experience of performing business analysis in the context of iterative/agile development lifecycle

- Understanding of and exposure to full development lifecycle
- Investment Banking experience
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, to include Word, Visio, Powerpoint or equivalent
