Job Title - Business Analyst - Product Control Projects
Department Overview
Our Client, a Tier One Investment Bank has a vacancy in the Cross Business projects team. This team manages those projects that are not specifically aligned to one business area which include projects on shared services such as PnL reporting platforms; data warehouses, reference databases, e.g. Chorus, BLBS, TDB, FIAT.

Main Function
This role is for a Business Analyst, the main functions of this role are as follows;

Working in conjunction with;

1) Line controllers to gather and agree business requirements
2) IT in the creation of functional specifications
3) Line controllers and IT to develop test plans and complete UAT

This role is a great opportunity for a dynamic enthusiastic individual to develop an extensive knowledge of the products, systems, and PC processes. In addition they will gain a thorough understanding of the systems development lifecycle.

Main Duties
The main duties for the Business Analyst are as follows:
1) Working with user representatives to determine the business requirements. This must involve a thorough consideration of all implications of these requirements to the business, including the identification of any potential issues or functional omissions
2) Fully documenting the analysis carried out, (this may include for example the production of process flows, use cases and scenarios).

3) The business analyst must be able to fully explain all diagrams and models to the business representative and end user, ensuring that they match the business requirements
4) Working with IT groups to convert requirements into functional requirements
5) Identifying analysis and design issues/risks on a timely basis and escalates to the project manager as appropriate
6) Assisting in the preparation and execution of UAT, user procedures and training packs
The successful candidate will have good written and verbal communication skills and will be diligent and thorough.
As in all business analysis roles, a high degree of flexibility is required. Projects sometimes involve long hours at critical stages in the lifecycle.

Person Requirements

*ACA/CIMA or equivalent
*Experience working in Product Control.
*Experience as a Business Analyst
*Graduate from top university with good honors degree
*Willingness to learn
*Enthusiastic self starter
*Numerate, able to work with spreadsheets and perform financial analysis
*Communication skills - written/verbal and formal/informal to different audiences at all levels
Formal business analysis training / qualifications
Postgraduate education
Solid knowledge and appreciation of IT
Experience of IT development lifecycles
Knowledge of MS Office, MS Project and Project Planning Control tools
Good knowledge of technical processes - interfaced with technology groups and IT implementations, and understands the IT development cycle.
