Business Analyst – Product Control recruitment

This position will involve working with the Change the Bank team with projects ranging from the delivery of large global strategic projects to the rapid deployment of solutions for local production issues. The team covers cross asset businesses ranging from Exotic and Vanilla Rates, Credit, bespoke CDOs and Equity products.

Responsibilities include; gathering, establishing and managing business requirements; continual improvement of strategic risk and PL platforms; managing relationships with various stakeholders and ensuring that daily processes run efficiently, by investigating root causes of errors and implementing solutions where possible.

Responsibilities:

-Analyse user requirements and devise solutions before determining the optimal solution and drafting a specification for the IT development teams.

-Understand the financial products, their setup on the current IT platform and their unique features.

-Provide “Subject Matter Expertise” to solve complex business problems.

-Enhance Risk and PL Attribution processes.

-Develop strategic platforms to handle new product types.

-Define and steer requirements to drive both strategic and tactical deliverables.

-Where solutions require a longer term development solution, engage with the IT teams to develop and implement the solution.

-Create and maintain strong working relationships with the team’s clients and partners.

-Assist with other regulatory or discretionary projects.

-Provide support on daily issues, this will include troubleshooting problems arising on an adhoc basis.

-Building and running ad-hoc scenarios

-As a Subject Matter Expert, provide training or advice to users.

-Working with stakeholders to migrate trades/books, release new functionality onto the platforms.

-Run and coordinate functionality, regression and parallel testing

Requirements:

-Degree educated preferably in a mathematical or scientific discipline

-Experience in the Product Control (Risk and PL) domain, ideally within credit or exotics rates derivatives area.

-A good understanding of how risk and PL attribution is calculated.

-Experience of delivering change or improvements to processes.

-Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with key stakeholders

-A highly detail-oriented approach to assessing requirements.

-A good understanding of technology and how technology is used to solve business problems

-A working knowledge of VBA, SQL or other programming skills

-Working knowledge how financial products are priced using models
