Business Analyst – Quantative Risk & Valuations recruitment

The Quantitative Risk Valuation Group (QRVG) is a global function with representation in London, Paris, New York and Hong Kong. The Group is comprised of three main quantitative functions, Model Review, Analytics and Development. QRVG is part of Global Markets Infrastructure with reporting lines in to Product Control and Market Risk. The Group supports Product Control, Market Risk Management and undertakes work within all major derivative asset classes with focus on those asset classes that make use of quantitative models.

The Analyst will provide support to the Global Business Manager and Head of EMEA Analytics and QRVG management in ensuring the business operations, governance of QRVG activities are effectively and efficiently managed. This includes adherence to Group and regulatory standards, the appropriate deployment of resources, the attainment of agreed operating plan objectives and the day-to-day management of business requirements. The Analyst will assist the Global Business Manager and Head of EMEA Analytics and QRVG management in contributing to the strategic and financial objectives of the group by providing key management information and reporting.

The position provides support to the interface role between QRVG and Global Markets Infrastructure/Business, as represented by Global Business Heads and Business Managers. The role is a critical role providing key support to QRVG managers. The role has a global context and is expected to reach out to the QRVG team globally, which consists of in excess of 50 individuals.

Knowledge Experience / Qualifications

•  MBA and/or equivalent professional qualification;

•  Background in an IT framework with experience of gathering user requirement specifications, UAT testing and full PROD release;

•  Strong experience in financial markets;

•  Client focused, with relationship building, analytical and very strong project management skills;

•  Strong communication (both verbal and written) and presentation skills;

•  Sound judgment and problem solving skills, ability to think laterally;

•  Ability to establish and maintain strong collaborative partnerships;

•  Excellent analytical skills including modeling in Excel and use of Access;

•  Ability to undertake in depth review of industry, competitors, client and products and provide a high quality analysis;

•  Knowledge of the wide spectrum of Global Banking Markets products and services.
