Position Summary:

Discovery West Europe covers 16 countries,14 channel brands spanning factual, lifestyle and entertainment programming and over 200 million cumulative subscribers.
As Business Analyst - Distribution Strategy , CEEMEA you will work across multiple markets and teams to support and implement the commercial strategy for Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, with responsibilities from supporting the regional Distribution Strategy Director and local teams on significant affiliate deals, to playing a key role in the implementation of Distribution processes, commercial policies and ‘culture’ and providing reports and data for sales teams and senior management
The successful candidate will be highly commercial and analytical, excited to learn more about the media business, and able to excel in a multicultural and fast-paced team.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a business analyst across CEEMEA to evaluate market opportunities within the region, engage in competitor analysis and market research
- Support strategy and process development including:
- Pricing strategy across our channels and markets
- Business planning and budgeting
- Reviewing and improving commercial processes
- Perform profitability analyses and develop models of our current and future deals to ensure that contract terms support our long-term growth strategy
- Support the regional Distribution Strategy Director with analysis and reporting to ensure that sales teams are prioritizing growth and value
- Contribute to the development of business solution design and refinement of the approaches and methodologies for conducting impact analysis that can then be integrated into the toolset for the local distribution teams.
- Cooperate effectively across finance, legal, operations and commercial teams to guarantee gathering sufficient data and providing stress test analysis results and recommendations.
Requirements:
- Ability to rapidly assimilate relevant data and draw logical conclusions from this including identification of gaps.
- Experience of planning and management of delivery of assigned work packages to a deadline
- Ability to combine market and consumer insights to develop creative and strategic solutions
- Consultative style
- Ability to work across multiple markets and cultures
- Proven competence with Excel and Power Point
- At least two years of experience in consulting or financial service sector or corporate strategy
- Russian or Polish language would be beneficial but not essential
