Business Analyst with Front Office/Equities Exp recruitment

Opportunity

MG are looking to recruit an experienced Business Analyst as part of their Analysis team. The team are responsible for supporting the successful delivery of projects across a wide variety of business areas from front to back office.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of business unit sponsored projects and will initially work on initiatives with the Equities business.

The candidate will have strong experience working as a Business Analyst with strong knowledge of equities and experience liaising with front office stakeholders, preferably within asset management.

Key responsibilities

- Work proactively with the business to determine scope and define business and functional requirements.
- Understand existing processes and define and document new business models including process and data using structured techniques.
- Configure front office applications to meet business requirements.
- Assist Systems Analysts in the understanding of business requirements.
- Develop test cases and execute system and integration testing.
- Input into project planning and define and manage the analysis deliverables against estimates.

What we are looking for

Essential
- The potential candidate will have a strong understanding of the Equities business.
- Previous experience of working with the front office (dealing desks / fund managers).
- Extensive knowledge of equity products, related data and the end-to-end trade lifecycle.
- Previous experience of implementing/working with Equity Portfolio Management, OMS and Compliance systems
- Experience of delivering business projects with a proven track record of delivery in all phases of the project lifecycle.
- Capable of facilitating medium to large sized workshops and meetings with senior stakeholders.
- Previous experience working with in-house development teams

- Have strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to think laterally and generate creative solutions.
- Have a genuine interest in expanding their knowledge and understanding of the challenges and developments impacting systems and operations in the Asset Management industry.
- Be able to generate and maintain positive relationships within the team and across the business.
- Must be able to manage conflicts and influence senior/business stakeholders.

Desirable
- Knowledge and experience of any of below is preferable:
oApplications (e.g LatentZero, ThinkFolio)
oData vendors (e.g Bloomberg, Rimes, Factset)
- SQL
- Experience with industry standard methods, tools and techniques for elicitation and documentation of business needs and associated requirements.
- Ability to work in an iterative project environment.

Other
- Investment Management Certificate, Investment Administration Qualification or equivalent.
- Business Analysis qualifications e.g. ISEB Diploma in Business Analysis.
