The Role
We seek an experienced software development professional with C#/.NET web application experience and strong database skills to join our Implementation Services Group within our Professional Services organisation. Our Implementation Services team specialises in customisation projects, based on Moody’s Analytics credit risk assessment software, which is used extensively by commercial banks, other private sector financial institutions, and governmental organisations throughout the world.
Our projects include financial and risk rating model customisation, design and development of custom software components, product migration and upgrades, software integration, data conversion and import, and technical client training.
Key Responsibilities
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Implementation Services Group in our London offices. The role will give extensive exposure to the credit risk environment and would suit a highly motivated and skilled software developer to move away from a pure development role into one having both technical and client-facing aspects.
Qualifications/Experience
• Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in Computer Science or holding a degree with a high Computer Science content, with excellent technical development and problem solving skills.
- At least three years software development experience, preferably within a financial institution or financial software organisation related to commercial credit risk assessment.
- Solid experience in web development using C# and ASP.NET, and either MS SQL Server or Oracle.
- Experience with Java development an advantage; for a particularly strong candidate this would substitute for experience with C#/.NET.
- Experience with Flex development an advantage, but not essential.
- Strong track record of excellent results delivered to internal or external clients.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including good presentation skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong professional relationships at all levels, with both internal and external parties.
- Fluency in second European language a strong advantage.
- Position will ultimately require approximately 10 – 15% travel to client sites.
- Client-facing requirements gathering and analysis, working closely with our Project Managers and Senior Technical Consultants.
- Frequent contact with technical and business project owners within client organizations.
- Solution design and implementation within the context of Moody’s Analytics software products and services, and contributing to work estimates.
- Creation of functional and technical specifications.
- Collaborative development work with other members of the Implementation Service Group in the United States, Europe and Asia; and with colleagues in our risk modeling and portfolio analysis groups.
- On-site meetings and client training activities during a project.
- Installation and on-site technical support as required.
- Post-delivery support for customisations.
