Business Architect required to join; international energy company to specialise in Energy Trading Risk Management (ETRM).
Our client is a trading leader in the international wholesale energy market and offers physical acquisition, management and delivery of natural gas, power and coal. Client profitability integrates physical and financial markets from the front-to-back office for all commodities. The successful Business Architect candidate will join our clients' regional team and will gain prime exposure to many aspects of the Energy Trading Industry while designing and implementing the IT department's strategy.
As a Business Architect, (Senior Business Analyst, IT, ETRM, Commodities, Design, Implement) specialising in the development of IT software for ETRM the main responsibilities will be:
* Develop a target functional solutions roadmap aligned with the business and IT strategy
* Develop excellent working relationships with the Investment Portfolio Management (IPM) team, and the development and analytics teams; to provide guidance and advice.
* Perform the role of Project Sponsor for any IT-led projects.
* Keep up-to-date with industry technology and identify opportunities to implement new software and/or processes to provide more efficient and effective service.
* Work with the Head of IPM and the business relationship managers, to identify opportunities to implement new markets/products to increase business value.
Experience and Qualifications required:
* Deep physical energy/commodity trading domain experience with responsibility for documenting the operating model and carrying out detailed analysis of business requirements.
* Experience as a senior business analyst or a leadership position.
* Experience in developing and maintaining excellent personal networks within the business community.
* Demonstrable experience and understanding of Enterprise Architecture.
* Experience in trading and risk management systems for commodities.
* Knowledge of the full trade life-cycle.
* Understanding of physical and financial commodities trading, particular physical power and gas trading, and the operational and back office functions to support these activities.
