The Professional Business Architect (BA) possesses a broad, enterprise-wide view of the business and varying degrees of appreciation for strategy, processes and capabilities, enabling technologies, and governance. Recognizes structural issues within the organization, functional interdependencies and cross-functional redundancies. Those issues may exist in role alignment, process gaps and overlaps, and business capability maturity gaps. The BA applies architectural principles, methods, and tools to business challenges to assimilate and correlate disconnected documentation and drawings, and to articulate their collective relevance to the organization and to high-priority business issues. The BA serves as liaison conveying information in suitably accurate models between the business unit and within Information Technology. The scope of this information includes business requirements, data constraints, business rules, models of strategy and motivation, processes, accountabilities, and other business and IT operational needs.

 

The Professional position covers exempt professional staff that contributes to the organization through expertise. The Business Architect provides the expertise necessary to insure that business and IT projects are aligned to support the achievement of key goals so that specific business needs are met and business value is delivered.

 

 

·         Exceptional communication skills and the demonstrable ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization; to include written and verbal communications as well as visualizations. 

 

 

·         Actively leads efforts that encourage equitable problem resolution and improved working relationships.

 

·         Creates high-level models (rigorous information-rich diagrams) that can be used in future analysis to extend and mature the business architecture.

 

·         Develop a business architecture strategy for the business unit based on a situational awareness of various business scenarios and motivations.

 

·         Consult with Lead Technical Architects (Domain Architects) to ensure alignment between the technology and business architectures

 

·         Analyze the current business environment to detect critical deficiencies and identify improvement opportunities

 

·         Perform current state assessments against target state to identify people, process, technology, and information gaps

 

·         Enumerate, analyze, and suggest improvements to the structural relationships of the business. This requires the creation and maintenance of an ongoing model of roles, capabilities and business units, the decomposition of those business units into subunits, and the interplay between these units in various business processes, materials, people, and systems.

 

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in business with management information systems, computer science or related field strongly preferred or equivalent work experience.

 

·         Six plus (6+) years experience in business environment, preferably in restaurant or retail industry

·         Six plus (6+) years as a Business, Solutions or Information Architect

·         Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and JD Edwards preferred • Knowledgeable about Quick-Serve Restaurant (QSR) business processes a plus • Knowledgeable about strategic technologies and industry best practices • Knowledgeable in organizational design, process modeling and change management • Strong analytical skills • Familiar with software development methodologies (Scrum, Lean, RUP, Waterfall) • Familiar with Object Oriented Languages Concepts • Familiar with Database technology (SQL Server, Oracle) • Familiar with Systems Security technology

·         Knowledge of Business Process Management technologies •

·         Familiar with Zachman’s Framework and The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF)

·          Advanced professional or theoretical knowledge and fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of a particular field of specialization in the execution of assigned duties and responsibilities

·         Ability to prepare and present information to guests, more senior associates, vendors and management with sufficient notice and preparation Experience with EA tools (Troux or Metastorm)
