Business Architect Lead

My client is a top tier investment bank looking for a director level candidate to head up a business architecture team within their reference data program. The Reference Data Program is a strategic initiative, and is sponsored by IB CFO. The program digitizes agreement data into a golden repository which is governed by the Data Quality team. This agreement data will be distributed to consumers.

Responsibilities:

Business Architect Lead will be responsible for running the day-to-day activities relating to the design of the program Architecture, specifically the management and supervision of the Business Architect Team in the delivery of the target process model design and the target data architecture design. Key deliverables include:

- Develop the business architecture agenda and resource plans to support the program

- Develop and own the business architecture strategy for IB Ref Data

- Direct the work of the process architects and data architects

- Coordinate with IT architecture team for the design of the application landscape

- Manage and chair design meetings as well as communicate and coordinate with other design forums

- Manage and lead the resolution of design issues

- Ensure that effective design review processes are developed, design reviews are conducted and that lessons improve future designs

- Contribute to the design of the overall business architecture st

Essential

- Deep knowledge of business architecture function

- Implementation exposure in the design of business process models and business semantic data models

- Solid knowledge of project methodology and project implementation exposure in financial services industry

- Exposure to coordinating the resolution of cross-divisional design issues

- Exposure to supporting the definition of a multi-year phased delivery roadmap

- Excellent analytical and documentation skills

- Exposure to managing multi-disciplinary teams

- Strong negotiation and influencing skills

- Understanding of the importance of data quality and governance

- Exposure to achieving results in a project context using resources that do not report directly to them

- Solid knowledge of IT, including exposure to managing IT-oriented projects

- Good understanding of IT oriented methods and approaches

- Proven decision making and critical thinking skills

- Extremely strong organisational skills

- Excellent relationship and interpersonal skills

- Good knowledge of standard office software applications (e.g., Microsoft PowerPoint)

- Knowledge of Legal Agreement, Credit, Collateral or Client or Product Reference Data front to back

- Knowledge of the banking regulatory environment
