Job Description
Due to internal move in the finance department, we are curently looking for a Business Area Finance Manager
As a Business Area finance manager you will have the overall responsibility for the financial statements and controls in the business area, including credit management.
The business area covers multiple legal entities across various countries. The financial manager will provide leadership to the local financial controllers and report directly to the CEO of the Business Area.
Main responsibilities are:
- Responsible for the management of the monthly closing process and ensure all deadline are reached.
- Working with the operational MD's of the Business area and be the spokesperson for the Business Area in respect of finance and control. - Reporting to the CFO of the group is part of this responsibility
- Ensure group accounting standards and policies are implemented and observed
- Maintain the control and risk environment. Ensure that strong internal control measurements are in place and operate at all times.
- Evaluate and advice on all investment decisions
- Maintain an effective credit management policy by minimizing the credit risk but still support the sales organization in achieving the sales objectives.
- Monitor and be a driving force in actions connected to profitability and working capital and this linked with the strategy of the Business Area.
- Verify compliance with local laws and regulations (including tax and VAT) and liaise with external advisors
- Preparation of the annual budget and drive the quarterly rolling forecast processes.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of the financial strategy and policies
- Provide effective management information to assist in decision making and control
Job Requirements
- Professional certification in accounting, holding a master's degree or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in an international environment (some additional years of experience in financial audit is considered as an asset)
- Fluent in English, Dutch and French
- Proven track record of rigorous and tight financial control in all aspects
- Flexible and willingness to travel for about 20% of the time to the the other units belonging to the business area.
- Strong communicator and acting in a very proactive way;
- Able to work independently;
- You are a team player with leadership traits;
- Commercial and result oriented;
- Experience with credit management and risk reporting;
- Basic knowledge of financial consolidation;
- Experience with ERP packages and reporting software;
- Excellent knowledge MS Office, especially of Excel;
- Dynamic, flexible and capable of adhering to deadlines;
- Healthy critical attitude and excellent analytical skills;
- Hands-on, positive attitude, proactive and constructive.
