Business Consultant

This position is accountable for facilitating, governing and defining business system strategy, concepts, capabilities, processes and requirements across the overall value chain (campaign to customer Care) in addition to processes that extend beyond the enabling applications. Further this position provides thought leadership across the Campaign to Care processes and will be expected to lead and coordinate team activities to drive significant business change.

1. Interface with business and technology leaders across the enterprise to facilitate business systems strategy, process and capability elaboration in support of the strategy and initiatives for all LexisNexis business models. More specifically:
a. Business stakeholders to document and drive out key value drivers and operational levers, align business value with key capability drivers and document L0-L3 processes, capabilities and requirements,
b. Enterprise and Domain architects to align business capabilities with the overall application and data architecture,
c. PMO to align business strategy with the overall implementation roadmaps,
d. QA to ensure end to end traceability is executed enabling a very positive internal and external customer experience,
e. Organization Change Management (OCM) team to ensure end to end processes are properly translated into the necessary change management activities,
f. Technology teams accountable for creating level 4 specifications.
2. Lead teams accountable for Business Consultant deliverables.
3. Develop and update the overall GEIS strategy and roadmaps.
4. Develop and update strategy documents for LexisNexis, LNG and Reed Elsevier.
5. Document and escalate significant issues that negatively impact the customer experience, revenue, internal controls and operational effectiveness. Issue and associated resolutions must be clearly documented and escalated to the VP of GEIS.
6. Oversee the end to end value chain and ensuring functional organizations are fully aligned to the operational implications of changes made to the value chain.
7. Mange governance of the overall processes models across the value chain. The Business Consultant is required to maintain standards and tools (BluePrint) for documenting business process and capabilities. The Business Consultant is required to ensure the standards are followed across the enterprise.
8. Manage the overall concept process including overseeing a concept through the approval and funding process.
9. Develop and maintain Customer Personas to ensure a very positive customer experience.
10. Ensure a value based approach is taken for prioritizations of concepts, initiatives, capabilities and requirements.
11. Provide ongoing updates to the operational levers and value profiles to enabling an overall value based approach to process improvement.

Qualifications:

1. BA/BS minimum, MBA preferable
2. 8 years of experience in a related role
3. In-depth knowledge of core business analyst tools and techniques
4. Strong oral and written communications skills
5. Global experience
6. Very strong leadership skills
7. Outstanding communication, conflict management and negotiation skills
8. Excellent presentation, critical thinking / analysis and written skills
9. Proven ability to summarize business issues for key executive stakeholders
10. A functional understanding of Oracle applications including Siebel, PeopleSoft Financials, PeopleSoft HR, and Billing Ratings Management
11. A strong understanding of the overall campaign to customer care processes and associated industry best practices including:
a. CRM concepts and principles,
b. Back-Office functions such as order management, billing, invoicing, financials,
c. eCommerce,
d. Information, analytics and business intelligence
12. This position must possess the following domain skills:
a. Process modeling,
b.Requirements and capabilities management,
c. Value-based approaches to drive business decisions,
d. General understanding of Organizational Change Management (OCM) and Quality Assurance processes
13. Experience with BluePrint Requirements Center (or a demonstrated competency in similar tools), MS Office, Visio and MS Project
