Business Control is responsible for improving and overseeing Collections Recoveries Controls and Governance Structure. The main purpose of the Business Control Consultant Role will be to provide day to day support to the Head of Business Control Remediation and ensure full oversight across all CR functions to include outsource functions.

The role will involve:
*Being a key contact for collections business control team to ensure the smooth running of the CR department and ensure any non-compliance/regulatory issues are flagged to senior management
*Supporting BCP incident management, taking ownership of operational/technical issues and sharing information with internal and external teams
*Supporting the CR governance framework including, meetings, helping with MI collation/review and supporting operational control
*Support and participate in CR projects where Legal and Compliance assessments are required
*Support the Head of Business Control with supporting the business in delivering Audit, Compliance, FSA reviews etc
*Support the review of regulatory obligations and identify gaps in current policy/strategy
*Support remediation planning where issues/incidents occur within CR

As a Business Control Consultant your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

*A proven track record of working in Collections Recoveries environment
*Technical knowledge of current CR processes
*Knowledge of relevant FSA regulations
*Previous experience of managing internal / external stakeholders
*Previous experience of managing/coaching people
*Able to challenge findings and see a variety of scenarios
*Creative problem solver - able to get to the root of issues
*Financially literate with a good appreciation of business drivers
*Strong oral and written, communication and influencing skills
*Strong interpersonal skills and good relationship building; Team player
*Negotiation and conflict resolution skills

As a Business Control Consultant your main responsibilities will involve:

*Good working knowledge of issue/incident management process - experience of escalating major issues to SPOC, Produban and CR Incident management to resolution and keeping key stakeholders and senior management informed.
*Ensuring day to day compliance, regulatory, policy related enquires are supported
*Helping to maintain effective governance and risk control processes and continued improvement to business control dashboard
*Taking a full responsibility for any change or improvement initiative being asked to progress
*Supporting the setup of new processes and facilitating delivery of services across internal and external teams
*Liaising with internal and external teams to manage business issues, risks and changes and ensuring these are communicated and managed effectively
*Building relationships internally and externally to facilitate the partnership, and to encourage the sharing of new ideas, information and best practice
*Works closely with and manages internal and external stakeholders to deliver change/improvement initiatives
*Using a range of communication methods that successfully and sensitively inform senior management of developments and issues and provide the detail required to make robust decisions
*Ensuring that other team members/key stakeholders are aware of relevant issues that are of interest or may affect their work
*Ensuring information is regularly and accurately shared between all interested parties
*Building and maintaining relationships with counterparts in other business areas including the compliance, audit and legal teams
*Contributing to internal and external meetings/forums
*Working as part of a wider business team to ensure that CR input is always sought when change proposals are formulated
*Supporting the development and maintenance of appropriate risk assessment tools
*Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks
*Updating awareness of risk and compliance issues, ensuring regular communication with wider business experts

Location: Milton Keynes. Flexibility to travel between various Santander and 3rd party sites, including overnight stays will be required

Salary: up to £40,000 + excellent benefits
