Business Control Manager

My client, a leading equities broker in the City, is seeking a Business Control Manager to join the Operating Management team and provide high-level finance and operational support to its cash equities business across European region on a contract basis.

Key accountabilities:

· Monitoring budgets and preparing reports on both revenues and costs for the cash equities business through spend tracking against targets and conducting variance analysis
· Perform reconciliations around operating records to ensure appropriate controls are in place
· Support the central Finance team in process integrity, as well as supporting the evaluation systems within the wider cash equities business
· Reviewing and assisting in any infrastructure changes and improvements as required
· Maintaining multiple relationships across the Operating Management, Finance and Front Office
· Ownership for multiple ad hoc transversal projects

Key requirements:

· At least 5 years’ experience in a business management or control capacity in financial services, ideally investment banking or from a brokerage
· Proven track record in budgeting, forecasting and cost reporting essential; exposure in the equities space would be preferable
· Excellent senior stakeholder management skills
· Strong Finance and numerical background
· Excellent Excel skills; working knowledge of VBA and/or Business Objects would be highly desirable
