Team description:
The Finance team in Amsterdam is responsible for Financial, Accounting and Reporting tasks of the Amsterdam branch of The Bank of New York Mellon SA/NV in Brussels. The team has a direct report to Brussels Finance, EMEA Finance (London) and Corporate Accounting in New York. The Finance team consists of a Management- Regulatory Team and Operational Accounting team.

Job Purpose:
The Teamleader of Management Regulatory Reporting is taking care of the daily activities of the team. The team performs the analyses and present the management and regulatory reports of The Netherlands reflected in the accounts. The management and regulatory reporting across- business line, legal entity and management unit in accordance with the specific- statutory, regulatory, fiscal and management requirements. Monitor the complete, accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in the general ledger in accordance with International Accounting Standards, resulting in the production of the management and regulatory reports. Initiate, propose, plan, implement and execute initiatives which support the management and regulatory reporting process.

Responsibilities Business Controller II:
- Plan, monitor, review and support the complete, accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in the general ledger.
- Maintain and analyse development in financial services products- custody, fixed income, foreign exchange, securities lending and related services and products.
- Maintain and analyse development in financial services accounting standards- statutory, regulatory, fiscal and corporate
- Propose, coordinate, execute and implement procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards with respect to the general ledger and sub ledgers.
- Coordinate and implement procedures and systems to maintain complete, accurate, timely, efficient and effective financial records and to afford adequate controls and services.
- Propose, communicate, implement and post adjusting entries to reflect financial transactions are recorded as prescribed by accounting standards.
- Monitor, review and support the reconciliation and confirmation of the general ledger. - Ensure efficient filing and maintenance of journal documentation and reconciliations for review by management and auditors.
- Monitor, action, alert management directly of any significant divergence from internal controls and accounting standards.
- Determine report and hedge the foreign exchange position of the legal entity accounted for.
- Produce, analyse, comment and distribute financial reports in the format prescribed by regulatory supervisor by country, including but not limited to US- Fed, SEC, , NL- DNB,
- Produce, analyse, comment and distribute financial reports in the format prescribed by regulatory supervisors.
- Produce, analyse, comment and distribute financial reports in the format prescribed by management, including Income Statement and Balance Sheet, consolidated, legal entity, management unit, line of business, product, cost type.
- Authorised signatory for corporate bank accounts.
- Participate, prepare and perform ad hoc investigations and projects.

Qualifications Business Controller II:
- A university degree in a financial discipline.
- 10 years of finance experience in a transaction intensive service industry, preferably financial services.
- Experience and knowledge of administrative and internal control best practices.
- Experience and knowledge of International Accounting Standards- IFRS, USGAAP.
- Experience and knowledge of Dutch regulatory reporting requirements.
- Experience with ERP systems, spreadsheets and reporting packages.
