The Corporate Banking (CB) Finance team, headed by Chief Financial Officer (CFO), is responsible for working with the business delivering financial leadership, control, commercial insight and advice. Our finance community is located in several countries around the world, supporting UK and Global businesses. There are some 270 staff directly employed in CB Finance and a further large number providing support from finance shared service functions elsewhere in the RBS Group.             

As Business Controller, you'll report directly into the Head of Reporting Controls, and have primary responsibility for reviewing and challenging the monthly / quarterly control sign-off processes across Finance (including assisting with Corporate Banking divisional consolidation). You'll be expected to carry out a programme of rolling detailed reviews on risk assessments, encourage adherence to Group policy framework and support senior management in the preparation of Q8 Accountants Certificate and CEC Certificate. In additional you'll be responsible for the SOX 404 process.      

Ideally, as Business Controller, you'll have experience working in a reporting controls team, preferably within a finance, operational risk and / or internal audit function. Additionally, it would be advantageous if you were a qualified accountant with a relevant degree. Exposure to regulators and auditors (internal and external) and a good working knowledge of IFRS / US GAAP would also be beneficial. As would previous banking experience, and knowledge of internal control frameworks, including SOX 404.
