Business Coverage Manager, Event Advisory and Planning Team – Associate recruitment

Corporate Services and Real Estate (CSRE) acquires, develops and manages the firm’s global real estate portfolio and delivers innovative and commercially managed market development, document management and hospitality related services.

CSRE’s areas of responsibility are Real Estate, Business Services, Finance and Administration Communications.

• Business Services delivers high-quality, commercially managed services to internal partners throughout the firm.

• Real Estate plans, builds and operates the firm's facilities worldwide, and is critical to ensuring that our core businesses operate efficiently 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

• Finance, comprised of regionally based teams and a central hub in Bangalore, India, provides financial analysis, decision support, procurement, contract administration and reporting for all initiatives within the Services Division and for business partners across the firm.

• Administration and Communications oversee organizational development and internal and client communications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

•Guide, advise and support clients with all aspects of event planning and execution, including event lifecycle understanding, design of the client experience, compliance, budgeting and approvals

•Build and maintain a strong understanding of the Financial Services Industry and solid overview of the Goldman Sachs business, its divisions and the global structure

•Understand clients’ business and business issues, key opportunities and drivers for growth. Serve as a trusted advisor to drive effective solutions for the business

•Advise and support strategy development. Be proactive and support the division to build a strong pipeline of event activity and help to identify any new future opportunities

•Build and maintain effective client relationships, ensuring that all client’s needs are listened to, understood and responded to in a timely way

•Work with clients to develop individual event briefs , working  with the project management team to ensure projects are delivered to plan

•Collaborate and partner effectively with  the vendor project management team who will plan and execute  all of our key GS events

•Work with the global business services team to ensure we achieve global consistency and to share best practice and across the group

 SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 5 years experience in client services role in addition to operating in a fast paced corporate organisation

• Exemplary client relationship skills – proven ability to gain client trust and drive strategic plans

• Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent client service

• Commercial experience from a sales and/or marketing background

• Strong communication skills with proven ability to build and maintain relationships

• Personal integrity, initiative, leadership qualities and the ability to work as part of a team in an environment that demands excellence, time and energy

• Strong creative skills to consistently create new ideas for events and ability to think “out of the box” to add that extra power to the event for that specific client

• Strong motivational skills with ability to manage others, delegate and manage resources

• Highly developed organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining high quality standards

• Strong negotiation skills

• Meticulous attention to detail and experience of managing to defined processes

• Good knowledge of European venues and suppliers

• Experience of operating in a high volume environment

• Language skills desirable

• Ability to travel desirable
