Title: Business Development Assistant  

Job purpose:

Assist in developing new business and supporting business processes through: project management cycle administration; monitoring and reporting progress; managing communications both internally and externally with constituents; and providing cross-functional support to all team members of our rapidly expanding solar energy business

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

1.    Assist in developing and refining communication, collaboration and project management tools.

2.    Leverage MS Office and cloud technologies such as Google Apps and iPad / SmartPhone apps to streamline processes and allow free flow of information.

3.    Develop data bases and reports to provide periodic information to support staff and business performance analysis.

4.    Maintain, monitor and execute project management communications to staff and constituents.

5.    Initiate collaboration with staff to support their ongoing workflow, communication, information and administrative needs.

6.    Follow-up with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and consultants.  Assist in diagnosing and overcoming obstacles to meet mutual objectives.

 

Key Qualifications:

·         B.S. in Business Administration: Operations Management, Finance, or Logistics degrees preferred. Minor in IT or knowledge of IT tools for project collaboration, such as Microsoft Share Point or Microsoft Projects preferred.

·         Three to four years of experience in a fast-paced environment.

·         Organized. Flexible dealing with change and handling multiple priorities.

·         Good written and verbal communication skills. Prior sales/customer service experience helpful.

·         Likes working with teams, reliable and supportive of others. “Can Do” attitude.

·         Likes using technology to plan, track, and communicate activity. Constantly learning and developing new skills.

 

Computer skills:

·         Must be adept in use of MS Office 2007, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Projects. 

·         Use of MS Share Point, Google Docs or similar tools very helpful.

·         Use of cloud technology for communication and collaboration very beneficial, such as Google apps and smart phones / iPad apps for project management, collaboration, and document storage.
