Business Development Associate Opportunity: Our client is seeking a highly motivated self-starter to join their institutional sales team. Reporting to the Business Development Manager for the west coast sales territory, the qualified candidate will provide the company’s strategy services to top-tier global investment banks, institutional money managers, hedge funds, private banks, pension funds and RIA’s. The goal of the position is to manage and develop commercial added-value relationships with the company’s West Coast client base and to assist in the identification and on-boarding of new relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Executing all stages of the sales cycle from initial phone contact, to placing trials, through to negotiating and closing agreements
- Executing well-defined added-value account management strategies
- Managing commercial relationships at CIO/CEO level and talking with authority concerning the financial markets and investment strategy
- Developing and maintaining sales reporting systems
Qualifications:
- An undergraduate degree, preferably in commerce, finance or economics
- 3+ years experience in the financial services industry, preferably within investment management
- A proven track record of using consultative sales techniques and account management strategies to influence, negotiate, gain commitment and develop relationships with senior investment professionals
- Strong commitment to teamwork matched with the ability to work creatively and independently
- Entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for investments, the economy and stock market
- Ability to write clear and compelling proposals
- Sound business and professional ethics
- Good IT skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to travel
