Business Development-Customer Service Representative

Job Title: Business Development / Division/Department: Sales Marketing Customer Service Representative Reports To: VP Sales Marketing Position Summary: Primarily responsible for Business Development / Customer Service by establishing and maintaining a rapport with current and potential customers. Position will provide and process information in response to inquiries, concerns and requests received from customers. Primary Responsibilities: · Receive, evaluate and manage various customer inquiries received by Company ? daily. Respond to the customer?s needs and follow through on all aspects of request, both written and verbal. · Handle order entry duties, customer schedule changes, shipping notifications, tracking and various administrative duties associated with customer service activity. · Provide initial review of customer RFQ engineering drawings, noting product features necessary for costing work up. Present RFQ opportunities to management team. After approval of VP of Sales, issue quotation to customer. · Track and provide follow up, on price quotations and sample activity. · Establish and maintain on-going customer relationships through interaction, sales calls, site visits to existing and potential customers. · Manage and prioritize new sales opportunities to company. · Attend industry trade shows and/or participate in planning, set-up and manning of Company industry trade shows; one to two times per year. · Assist in development of brochures, specification sheets, and other marketing materials as needed. · Participate in updating of company website. Offer creative ideas as to ways to promote the company and products. Knowledge, Abilities, Experience Required: · Ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously in the sometimes hectic environment of a manufacturing facility. Interact with other functional areas (accounting, manufacturing, engineering, quality control). Represent and communicate Sales Dept. priorities. · Ability to interpret basic engineering drawings and be trained to note product features. Must possess good basic math skills. · Desire to be trained and take ownership of the sales effort for specified customers and products. · Able to make overnight travel 1-2 times per month. · Ability to comprehend or be trained to comprehend basic cost accounting principles, in order to make recommendations relating to price and profit margin. · Computer literate, ability to use Microsoft Office, Prepare Excel spread sheets and presentations and be trained on company business system (Great Plains). · Excellent oral and written communication skills. · Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills. Education: · High School diploma or equivalent. Associates or Bachelors Degree in business or technical discipline preferred, but equivalent experience may be substituted. · Prior sales, customer service, quality or engineering experience in custom metals fabrication environment or air conditioning /refrigeration desirable. .
