Business Development Director (UK)

The Position

Our client is a well established financial services firm with operations worldwide. The company offers fund administration and company secretarial services to their clients, and has the footprint to offer these services on a worldwide basis. Due to further growth, the firm now has a need for a Business Development Director to join their operation in London. You will be working as part of a global business development team, alongside one other Business Development Director , reporting into the Managing Director in London. In this role, you will be helping to develop the firm's footprint throughout the UK, spanning outsourced accounting and fund services covering a range of funds: hedge, private equity, debt, mezzanine, SPVs, and alternative asset funds. If new clients wish to transact business outside of the UK, you will be given the flexibility to cater to the client's needs on a global basis, as the firm has representative offices worldwide.

Your Profile

The client is looking to meet candidates with a demonstrable track record of business development/ new client generation/retention in the fund administration space. The client is ideally looking to meet with candidates who have previously worked in the fund administration space, perhaps as a qualified accountant, thereafter having moved into  business development. Likewise, the client will consider candidates from a legal background, with a very strong network in the private equity/hedge/debt/alternative asset funds space, throughout the UK. The key is to have a strong network among both recently established funds as well as those that are more established. The client will be considering candidates on a case by case basis, dependent on the level of experience gained. Of utmost importance for the client is to bring someone on board who is very much at ease with business development, and networking throughout the investment funds space. Strong interpersonal/relationship building skills are a must for this role. Just as important is the ability to work on your own initiative.
