Business Development Executive Job in Birmingham, Midlands UK

My client, a leading accountancy firm is currently looking to recruit a Business Development Executive in their regional Birmingham office. The role will report into the Business Development Manager and significantly contribute to the firms’ new business initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- To support the business in generating new fees from existing and potential clients and to provide a coordinated approach to sales and targeting
- To increase client retention and improve client satisfaction through local implementation of national client care initiatives
- Enforcement and monitoring of client service standards in line with national protocols
- Support the sales culture providing a structured approach to targeting and follow up, pitch support and client care
- Support BDM in creation and maintenance of sales pipelines.
- Organise and attend pipeline meetings with partners and teams.
- Ensure the pipelines are up to date and the process is focused.
- Draw together local market intelligence and liaise with Business Analysis Manager regarding target information to support the sales process.
- Ensure sales targets have regular contact program in place and that fee earner sales teams are updating their target and contact data on the CRM database.
- Ensure effective sales follow up by working with the fee earner sales team to draw up and implement a contact management plan.
- Organise the local pitch process.
- Implement initiatives that relate to the client’s experience.
- Assist the BDM in ensuring the Key Client management programme is happening in the area. Keep plans up to date, monitor and manage progress and play an enforcer role to ensure actions are undertaken.
- Assist the BDM in ensuring client service standards are in place for all relevant clients.
- Assist the BDM in the monitoring of client service reviews, ensuring the BDM and relevant Partners/Managers are supported and are undertaking this role.
Candidate:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent.
- CIM Advanced Certificate or working towards CIM Advanced Certificate or appropriate equivalent qualification.
- Commensurate experience of marketing/business development, ideally within a professional services/partnership environment.
- Proven track record of project managing marketing programmes.
- Business development experience targeting new business preferable.
- Good personal communication skills with the ability to work with partners and staff at all levels.
- Ability to use own initiative and prioritise workload, managing conflicting demands.
- A team player who will implement initiatives effectively and demonstrate flexibility in carrying out their work.
- Effective organisational and time management skills - ability to remain effective and focused under pressure and overcome obstacles.
- Drive, enthusiasm, resilience and sound commercial awareness.
- Excellent IT, written, verbal communications and numeric skills.
