Business Development Executive Job in Winchester

Our client is a fast growing and well respected Information Technology service, support and consultancy firm.  The Company’s client profile encompasses a broad range of industries and businesses of all sizes in the UK and overseas.

 

Job purpose:

-responsible for selling managed services to mid-sized organisations within the IT industry, delivering end-user solutions.

-You will be responsible for generating leads, confirming sales and closing business.

 

Requirements:

-Previous IT sales experience is essential. 

-A demonstrable background in selling IT outsourcing, consultancy and managed services. 

-A strong focus on identifying, developing, and maintaining new business opportunities and be capable of developing on-going trusted partner relationships with clients working with the account management team.

-Has consistently achieved and exceeded targets

-A strong knowledge of the IT Solutions and Managed Services industry.

-At least three consecutive years of target achievement selling IT services.

Responsibilities:

 

Sales and Marketing

 

Develop new client business. 

Assist in the planning and prioritisation of sales activities and customer/prospect contact towards achieving agreed business targets. 

Generate new prospects and follow up sales enquiries using appropriate methods. 

Plan and manage the business portfolio according to an agreed market development strategy. 

Manage and follow up on marketing activities according to agreed targets.

Person Profile

 

Demonstrates a successful  profitable track record of selling IT services into the professional services sector of the SME market 

Ability to communicate with business owners and board members in business terms and to put cash value benefits alongside their proposals 

Ability to open new accounts and then develop and execute account plans that deliver value to the client and the company, and 

Achieve sales targets while at the same time developing recurring revenue streams.

Personality: Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on high quality and business profit. A natural forward planner who critically assesses own performance. Mature, credible, and comfortable in dealing with company management. Reliable, tolerant, and determined. Empathic communicator, able to see things from the other person's point of view. Well presented and businesslike. Keen for new experience, responsibility and accountability.

 

Personal Situation: Able to commute reliably to office base and UK wide (if necessary). Able to work extended hours on occasions when required. Must have clean or near clean driving licence.

 

Education: Degree in Business Studies or Information Technology desirable.

 

Specific Job Skills: Able to communicate and motivate via written media. Understands the principles of sales and marketing including market sector targeting, product offer development, features-benefits-solutions selling.

 

Computer skills: Must be IT literate and adept in use of MS Office 2003 or later, particularly Excel and Word.

 

Literacy and Numeracy: Must be a very competent writer of business letters, quotations and proposals.

 

Business and Selling Skills: Must be an excellent face-to-face and telephone communicator. Able to demonstrate success and experience of managing customer accounts and contracts, particularly achieving sales development and cross selling opportunities. Ideal background would be in business support services.

 

Management Ability: Though internal staff management is not initially part of the job, responsibility and opportunity could grow with the development of the business. Some people-management skills, experience and natural ability will be useful.
