Business Development (Field Sales) Job in Bolton, North West UK

1-      Achieve the area’s order intake and margin objectives, with complete accountability for selling the whole product portfolio to existing and new customers in order to meet defined sales quotas.

 

2-      Provide their Sales Manager with an accurate sales forecast each month, and a comprehensive review of the previous month’s results.

 

3-      Continually improve customer care and satisfaction through the effective management of Accounts, ensuring timely and appropriate response to customer queries and complaints.

 

4-      Develop and implement a sales plan for the territory, incorporating proactive activity plans for each major area or account.  Ensure effective and timely response to business needs through regular reviews of progress and revisions to the plan as appropriate.

 

5-      Drive the growth of our client’s ‘share of spend’ through the implementation of an account management programme including Marketing, Internal Sales and Specialist activity to retain existing customers and increase market penetration for all elements of the product portfolio.

 

6-      Review all prospects for the territory on a monthly basis, ensuring all actions necessary to achieve successful outcomes are in place.  Monitor and review both the quality and strength of the prospect pipeline through the use of appropriate key measures.

 

7-      Use company-wide resources to support field sales activity as appropriate, including Product Specialists and Engineers, Education Specialists, Marketing, Senior Managers and 3rd party partners.

 

8-      Identify and develop a network of Reference Sites and use them effectively to drive business growth and customer satisfaction.

 

9-      Conduct effective negotiation of business between our client and its customers, subject to terms and conditions acceptable to them, and represent the Company with a high level of professionalism.  Presentations, “argumentation”, correspondence, proposals, quotations and the management of customer meetings should be maintained to a high standard.

 

10-  Maintain a constant search for improvement opportunities, feeding back ideas, recommendations, issues and concerns which may be significant to the on-going success of our client’s Sales and Marketing activity. 

 

11-  Develop and maintain a high standard of knowledge and skills commensurate with the “needs” of the role.

 

12-  Be fully conversant with all internal sales systems and processes ensuring they are used effectively and kept up to date.
