Job Description
This position is responsible for helping the Company achieve its ongoing growth plan in the commodities industry. The primary function of this position is business development, encompassing all aspects of an investment project. ]
- Formulates and values business strategies, and supports the development of enterprise valuation model. Partners with traders, accounting personnel and outside consultants to determine valuation, goodwill impairment testing, WACC.
- Assist in identifying opportunities to develop the existing business or diversify into new areas, through acquisition or start-up.
- Oversees project management of Mergers and Acquisitions, from initiation to closing.
- Works with each commodity desk to prepare 5 year business plan
- Analyzes cost impact, recommends best financing options, and assist in managing the project financing process
- Partners with project leaders and business unit leaders to ensure projects are completed within capital spending tolerances; identifies and anticipates requirements for supplemental funding; reviews exception reporting of projects at or over authorized spending levels.
- Involves in deal structure the deal and assist during the negotiation process and in charge of closing process
- Work with each commodity desk to perform competitive analysis and industry benchmarking; publishes quarterly competitor updates.
- Leads and develops formal classes and informal interactions with managers throughout the Company to increase awareness and utilization of financial and economic concepts, such as NPV, IRR, marginal rate of return, net working capital, cost of capital and opportunity cost.
- Provides modeling/analytical support to Executive Management.
The Successful Applicant
- At least 5 - 10 years of work experience demonstrating increasing responsibility.
- Five years of business development or MA experience in a MNC corporate environment, at least two of which was in a PM or lead capacity.
- At least 2 years experience working in China and/or significant exposure/responsibility (greater than 5 years) to business development in China
- At least 2 years of managerial experience
- Experience must include project management and financial transaction/finance management in an industrial or commercial business environment.
