Our client, a world leading E-commerce company, is looking for a:
Business Development Manager – MEA Markets
Reporting to the Head of Markets Expansion, you will drive the strategy, deliver new solutions and support ongoing operations in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) markets.
Your primary responsibilities will be:
• Help manage external relationships to ensure that the MEA Markets business, operations, compliance, revenue and profit objectives are being met. In particular, creatively leverage existing and new partnership to our client further strategic business objectives.
• Help manage the country expansion strategy by developing and delivering payment solutions with cross-functional teams:
oConduct market analysis, including competitive assessment and global industry trends, identify gaps and opportunities in existing capabilities, determine potential new payment needs and partners for MEA countries, and participate in the due-diligence process.
oDevelop business cases in support of new payments products and process / infrastructure enhancements, quantifying opportunities, using quantitative data and solid business judgment.
oPresenting recommendations with clarity and persuasiveness to senior management.
oDevelop and execute payment solutions for our client, including product design, evaluation of competitive and regulatory issues, and assessment and integration of Financial Institution/Network partners.
oNegotiate, craft, and manage the proper execution of Financial Institutions or network contracts.
• Provide input for MEA payments, representing our client in key Regional payment industry forums and facilitating the institutionalization of payments expertise.
• Work with International team members to exchange and implement best practices.
• Identify issues and engage appropriate internal external partners to drive timely resolution.
• Leverage platform performance metrics and product analytics to determine and monitor the overall operational health of the MEA markets.
• Represent GCP Markets Expansion with internal cross functional stakeholders and partners including business operations, customer service, finance, markets, project management, and software development.
Job requirements:
Knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, and education required to perform job.
• 5+ years of experience in International/ MEA payments at a bank, network, processor or consultancy, with emphasis on card and bank transfers and retail payments.
• Must speak French, Arabic and English fluently and have experience working with a French / Arabic /English-speaking firm.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Superior relationship and influence management skills in interactions with senior leaders, peers, and external partners.
• Ability to build partnerships, manage and maximize value of partner relationships is critical.
• Self-motivation, high energy, and strong work ethic.
• Analytical and problem solving skills to identify improvement opportunities and deliver innovative solutions.
• Must handle multiple priorities with a strong attention to detail while seeing the big picture.
• Ability to work in cross-functional and cross-cultural teams to identify payment market needs and facilitating solution development and be able to communicate technically intricate concepts/results in business terms.
• Comfort with ambiguity, regular context-switching and driving results in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfort with traveling in MEA / US 2 weeks per Quarter
Education and Experience requirements:
• Bachelors Degree or Equivalent from a four-year college or university, with an emphasis of product management. MBA Preferred.
• Strong execution experience.
• Experience working with vendors/ clients.
• Experience in Product Management is a plus.
• Experience in the financial industry and payment systems is a plus.
• General knowledge of web services technologies, web-based and financial services products is a plus.
• Experience working in a top-tier strategy consulting firm or technology company is a plus.
