Business Development Manager, Australasia
We are a leading firm of engineering and resource economists headquartered in Hong Kong, with offices in London and Sydney. Given existing clientele and revenue potential for Australasia, we are expanding our business development team in Sydney.
For over forty years, AME has built a research capability based upon engineering and commodity market analysis. We serve the majority of major mining and trading companies, investment banks, fund managers and public sector agencies active in the resource space. AME’s Advisory business harnesses our industry knowledge to offer tailored client work, providing advice for transactions of significant value - including IPOs, financing (debt/equity), due diligence and special situation pursuits.
Key responsibilities for the role include:
- Management of existing client relationships
- Proactively building new client relationships
- Identify opportunities and drive new business growth
- Development and implementation of marketing activities
- Client calls, meetings, presentations and support
- Conference attendance and marketing support
We are seeking proactive and assertive individuals with good management, communication and presentation skills. As the point-person for the client interface, the Business Development Manager should demonstrate:
- Proven track record and experience in institutional business development – minimum 7+ years
- Experience or sound understanding of the metals, mining and energy industries
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Commercial acumen and strong negotiation skills
- Effective time management – planning and implementation
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to deal with senior executives of major corporations
- Experience and knowledge of the Australasian market
