Our client is currently entering a new era in their already long and successful existence. Seen as a cornerstone in Australia’s Financial Markets, the organisation is embarking on an exciting strategic growth initiative to increase their service offerings to the Financial Institutions markets, both domestically and internationally. The goal is ultimately to stamp their dominance in the market and continue to position themselves competitively with their international peers.
This is a business development role that sits within a small team responsible for the business development activities and sales generation for all capital markets products and service sales to listed companies, and the promotion of existing products to institutional investors. You will have the responsibility for growing the business, developing and promoting access to the equity capital markets vehicles on offer through this firm. This role is pivotal to the short term growth strategy currently in place.
- Active engagement with identified potential listings
- Developing relationships with industry participants, including investment banks, brokers, issuers, accounting, legal and corporate advisory firms, to foster and facilitate usage of the equity capital market business
- Developing and organising domestic and international IPO/capital market seminars and company road shows in partnership with market intermediaries
- Market analytics and lead generation of potential domestic and international clients
- Promotion and marketing of the firms listings services through the development of relevant and informative presentations, brochureware and web content
- Representing the company as a presenter and exhibiter at relevant conferences and trade shows both overseas and domestically
This is a key position and will be highly visible throughout the company. The person in this role is expected to be able to exhibit a high level of industry knowledge and commercial acumen, be passionate about making a tangible difference and be able to use their influencing skills to work with key stakeholders in presenting business cases and strategies.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 5-10 years’ experience in the securities industry with particular knowledge of financial products and equity trading
- Business development/ customer relationship management experience
- Demonstrated relationship management background and experience with dealing with company officers at senior levels
- Tertiary qualification in finance, business, or law
