Business Development Manager (Chinese Desk) recruitment

We are currently looking to recruit a Business Development Manager for our Chinese Desk to be part of the Sales Team in the Melbourne based office.
The key role of the Business Development Manager is to establish and manage the business development and sales activities for Chinese Desk. The main goal is to achieve short and long term business and financial objectives, and to increase sales and market share while maintaining the margin expectation of the desk.
The Business Development Manager will develop and execute the business plan and marketing plans for Chinese desk and subsequently work on the execution of such agreed plans to align and maximise the respective marketing and sales efforts in Chinese desk.
The role also has responsibility for meeting business targets that are set during the development of the business and marketing plans.
The duties and responsibilities of the Business Development Manager (Chinese Desk) include:
- Sole responsibility for the development and growth of IG Markets Chinese client offering
- Work closely with Corporate Marketing to design and execute strategies built around developing new business growth
- Identify potential sources of new clients
- Interface with existing strategic customers to solidify mutual expectations of performance and growth
- Identify and attend tradeshows, seminars and other business functions to keep abreast of developments in the marketplace, to find potential new business and to market the company’s end to end solutions
- Proactively initiate and engage sales calls to new prospects
- Be willing to regularly travel within Australia and overseas
Skills Required:
- Experience in sales, business development or client relationship role
- Strong client relationship management and development aptitude
- Solid presentation skills
- Have a desire to make a significant contribution to a rapidly growing organisation
- Proficient in English and Chinese communication
- Ability to facilitate and orchestrate resources cross functionally to support sales efforts
- Must possess a minimum of 5 years progressive sales management experience and a demonstrated record of sales growth
- Bring an entrepreneurial approach to all initiatives
- Market research experience
- Proven ability to work independently
Qualifications:
- Must be degree/diploma qualified
- Qualifications in business management or finance (desirable)
