Summary Description: Account strategy implementation, consultative selling, and technical assistance for new existing customers. The successful candidate will maximize market share in ?A? accounts and sales opportunities by promoting product growth and providing development, management, and account direction for assigned accounts. Essential Duties Responsibilities: - Strategic management of ?A? accounts ? partner with Business Development Support for the growth of ?A? accounts. - Proactive selling and growth strategy implementation to ?A? accounts. - Full responsibility for achieving or exceeding sales plans for assigned accounts. - Establish or re-establish customer relationships by proactively calling and visiting new or inactive accounts/prospects. Specific functions may include: introducing new products, sales programs, promotions, developing proposals, and contracts. - Utilize needs based and consultative selling techniques to determine product and service needs for both new and ongoing accounts/prospects. - Direct customer complaints, billing issues, technical/quality problems, etc. to appropriate area or Business Development Support. - Maintain up-to-date relevant metrics for proposals, contracts, conversion rates, and revenues. Provide additional metrics, as requested. - Conduct lead generation activities as set by plan. - Pricing coordination for assigned accounts. - Contact/visit customers and conduct products promotion including sample activities, review and identify strategic direction, problem areas, and opportunities to promote sales growth. - Travel to customers 50% of time. - Serve as key customer contact responsible for answering ?A? customer inquiries and resolving customer problems (quality issues, etc.). - Develop and monitor customer forecasts vs. actual and safety stocks. - Produce monthly reports for sales management. - Oversee collection of competitor and customer information for maintenance of customer databases. - Resolve outstanding/overdue payment issues, as needed. - Global Account strategy implementation and contract negotiation. Knowledge Skills Abilities: - Minimum 8 years experience in technical consultative sales to industrial accounts in Life Science (Pharma, Biotech, or Diagnostic Industry) including working knowledge of Molecular Diagnostics. - Deep understanding of all quality management and regulatory requirements necessary for Life Science. - Strategic, consultative, and relationship selling skills required. - Outstanding customer service skills required. - Ability to work well with Customer?s technical teams. - Revenue generation with eye on profitability. - Experience in the strategic launch of new products - Understand and implement ethical contract practices. · - Excellent integrator and negotiator. - Excellent presenting and closing sales skills to all levels of decision makers. - Excellent communicator of ?value proposition? to targeted departments within national accounts. - Ability to judge competitive response to sales strategy and make appropriate adjustments. - Ability to implement strategies, monitor results and make adjustments of strategy within sales team to achieve product focus strategic goals. - Highly developed sales closing skills - must demonstrate with past results - Proven track record of double digit growth. - CRM experience ? Goldmine preferred. - Knowledge of the quality systems methodologies. - Knowledge of all Molecular Diagnostics Industry competitors. - Good analytical and quantitative skills, leveraged by computer skills - MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes) - Excellent problem solving and teamwork abilities: ability to work within or lead a team. - Ability to work with influence people without formal authority and to work well with other departments within the company. - Must have strong time management and organizational skills. - Must be able to quickly and accurately assess the importance of phone calls, emails, or documents and take appropriate action to involve the appropriate people. - Must maintain strict confidentiality of extremely sensitive data, records, files, conversations, etc. - Self-motivated and able to grasp new concepts quickly. - Exceptional interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, integrity, respect for confidentiality, sound judgment and decision making skills. - Strong written and oral communication skills. Experience Educational Requirements: - Ph.D. or Masters in Biology, Biochemistry, Virology, Immunology or related Life Science. - Minimum 8-10 years business-to-business and/or corporate account sales experience or management, in Life Science (Pharma, Biotech, or Diagnostic Industry) including working knowledge of Molecular Diagnostics with a proven track record of results. Physical Demands Work Environment: - Requires large amount of travel to customers (50% of time). - Sits at desk for long periods of time. - Heavy phone and computer work.
