Position Summary:
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying, approaching and signing up local businesses – such as restaurants, hotels, day spas, cooking schools, hair salons, activity operators, etc – to run great deals through Our Deal’s vast array of advertising channels. This position offers a base salary, performance based bonuses, car allowance, phone and internet allowance, and more.
The key activities will be associated with the role include:
- Identifying, cultivating and acting on sales leads in each regional market
- Conducting presentations with business prospects (ideally face-to-face) and negotiating favourable terms for potential business deals
- Assessing the businesses of prospects to minimise risk and ensure the deal terms are clear and appropriate
- Maintaining strong working relationships with clients
- Working closely with the production coordinators in approving the presentation of deals to go live on the website
- Providing timely and accurate sales reports to direct supervisors
- Using company Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools and processes
- Reporting to a General Sales Manager who will provide ongoing support
Skills Experience:
- Minimum 3 years direct sales experience
- Demonstrated sales skills, including ability to create and manage sales pipeline, think creatively, market to various types of businesses and convert sales leads
- Excellent communication, business and negotiation skills
- Impeccable presentation and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with acute attention to detail
- Flexible attitude to multitasking between departments
- Insight into the local market place and intimate knowledge of current consumer purchasing behavior
- Self-motivated, high-energy, sense of humor and positive attitude
