Business Development Manager Job in Redditch

A Business Development Manager is required for our client based in Redditch to be responsible for developing robust business relationships at a senior level with major energy users across a variety of sectors. It is a consultative sales process which requires an understanding of the energy requirements in each business to provide the most appropriate solution.

This role is supported by a strong marketing and telemarketing team who book all appointments. This enables the business development team to focus solely on attending meetings and converting new business.

With an annual revenue target you will be negotiating at director and senior management level. With sales cycles lasting as long as 6 months or more, this role requires a high level of organisation, discipline, time management and a strategic, consultative approach.
The role is based in the Redditch office when not visiting prospective clients. There are up to 4-5 meetings per week to cover across the UK.
Duties:

  • Work in conjunction with the Sales Manager and Business Development Supervisor to maximise new business opportunities.
  • Attend up to 4-5 new business appointments per week as booked by the Business Development team.
  • Prepare thoroughly for all new business meetings by reading notes from Business Development Executive, researching the prospect company and preparing a meeting planner.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of the most recent market movements and services available, to provide high quality information and advice to all clients and prospects.
  • Present to all prospects utilising the sales tools provided by marketing using documents and corporate brochure/case studies/testimonials, where appropriate.
  • Contact prospective clients on a regular basis to provide additional information and advice, to negotiate terms of the agreement and to conclude all sales activity.
  • Monitor and report on all activities including a gauge on likelihood of conversion.
  • Propose new ideas, strategies and methods of working to maximise our success in the business development team.

    Ideally you will be a candidate from a B2B background with experience in the Energy Market being desirable. You will have a passion for delivering excellent service and enjoy a targeted environment.
