Invensys Rail is expanding its operations across Asia Pacific and to give vigour to our continued growth and expansion into new markets, we have an opportunity for a dynamic and innovative Business Development Manager with a proven track record in leading and securing major contracts within the rail industry.
Based in our Singapore office the role of Business Development Manager reports to the Vice President, Marketing and Sales for Invensys Rail Asia Pacific and is responsible for securing major orders for our products and services across Asia Pacific, but more specifically in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Taiwan. It will require an influential, energetic and strategic leader with experience in developing business relationships across multiple Asian countries with significant cultural diversity. There is also a requirement for extensive overseas travel.
Accountabilities:
- Develop and lead the plans, strategies and tactics for securing orders within the region
- Engage with customers to understand their needs, develop competitive value propositions and position us to win their business
- Develop productive relationships with customers, users, strategic suppliers and other stakeholders
- Plan, lead, organise and control the wider sales support team, agents and distributors
- Participate in the Company's strategic planning processes
- Obtain market and competitive intelligence
Essential Competencies:
- Tertiary qualified or equivalent experience in a relevant engineering field
- Rail Industry experience, with a strong preference for the rail signalling market
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong Commercial acumen, with particular business experience in the Asian market
- Business development, sales or key account management experience
- Ability to interact effectively at a senior customer management level
- Experience in Commercial/Legal negotiations not essential, but highly desirable

- Have the ability to effectively work in a matrix organisation, often remotely
