Business Development Manager
Based: West London
Salary Guide: £30,000 + package
Purpose:
A key member of the Business Development Team working closely with all areas of the business to build
the companies profile as a leading global innovation consultancy. Meet the sales strategy by delivering
opportunities for the team to establish relationships that lead to new and repeat business.
Responsbilities:
(Sales)
Support sales activities and develop new business opportunities for our Services (Human Sciences,
Design Insight, Industrial Design Technical Design) and Sectors (Medical, Consumer, Industrial,
'Service') with particular emphasis on the Medical sector, for UK, CE and US regions.
Planning and research of target markets and accounts in line with the Sales plan.
Understand potential client organisations, their issues and buying points.
Manage customer engagement using various channels; email, phone calls, events, targeted
campaigns etc) to secure introductions and meetings.
Coordinate targeted networking opportunities.
Manage and maintain contacts database and share insights gained.
Follow up leads, build rapport, and ensure continuous engagement with clients.
(Marketing)
Coordinate Marketing efforts (campaigns, exhibitions, PR etc) with the Marketing Executive.
Key skills/Requirements:
Experience within a consultancy or professional services environment.
Able to engage with decisions makers/PAs through warm and sophisticated dialogue.
Eloquent manner and sensitive to timing and client mood.
Ability to build rapport quickly and maintain relationships.
Persuasive over the phone/email to obtain meetings.
Some experience of selling to a variety of organisations.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
A keen interest in design and innovation.
Tenacious and able to establish respect.
Organised self-starter with excellent attention to detail. A forward planner with strong time
management skills.
Reliable, diplomatic, strong sense of responsibility and accountability.
Team player, with flexibility and a positive outlook.
Other information:
Reports to the Businsess Development Director.
Occasional travel will be required (UK and abroad).
