Business Development Manager – Wholesale Sales recruitment

An opportunity has become available for an experienced Business Development Manager to join the Wholesale Sales team in Sydney. This role will be accountable for BTIM proprietary product sales and effective business development across adviser channels for NSW.
Reporting to the Head of Wholesale Sales the key focus of the role will be:
- Achievement of sales targets (covering new business, cross selling and retention) across the defined set of clients and prospective clients
- Business development and relationship management with financial planners
- Maximising profitability of client relationships for BTIM
- Working with portfolio specialists and relevant BTIM employees to achieve outcomes and convert business opportunities
- Providing technical product, sales and business solutions to the client group
- Preparing and delivering (with and/or without investment staff involvement) sales pitches and client reviews
- Maximising BTIM proprietary product representation on client /adviser models and driving a greater share of flows
- Working with the marketing team to produce relevant, targeted collateral, investment management support materials, competitive analysis and sales intelligence
- Coordinating delivery of relevant product training/education to the client group
- Monitoring business progress against plan, forecasts and KPI’s and recommending actions to initiate improvements
- Providing industry intelligence and market feedback in order to better focus sales efforts

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the market and industry sectors in which they operate and will have proven success in a business development role within a funds management firm. You will also have:
- a solid track record in generating new business and feel confident in various techniques of business development
- the ability to negotiate and influence both your internal stakeholders and external prospects
- confidence in developing value propositions and other key documentation in the sales process
- a hunter approach with a continual thirst to seek out new leads and a strong commitment to grow the business
- a results orientated approach with a drive and passion to exceed other’s expectations
- tertiary qualifications.
