Role Description:
This is an opportunity to work with iShares®; the world's most comprehensive family of exchanged traded products with more than 190 exchange traded funds and notes offered globally.
We are seeking a high energy, self motivated Business Development Officer (BDO) who will be based in Vancouver, British Columbia to build and grow relationships with portfolio managers and investment advisors within the Full Service Brokerage (IIROC licensed) community in the Western Canada region. Preference would be to those who have previously covered this territory with existing relationships coupled with a strong reputation among the advisory community. This position will report directly to the Head of Distribution. Expectations will be to effectively manage the territory in order to exceed personal and team sales goals.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Call on full services investment advisors in order to support and grow their business through the use of iShares, Exchange Traded Funds
- Deliver sales presentations, seminars, and meetings with clients/prospects
- To have existing relationships with investment advisors in Western Canada with a strong emphasis on
Vancouver - Identify opportunities/needs for marketing or collateral that will help drive adoption and usage of iShares.
- Report weekly activities and accomplishments.
- Be a contributing partner on a team that thrives on partnership, communication and execution.
- Work with National Accounts Team to communicate client voice from the field.
- Manage budget to maximize time and resources.
- Manage all conference activity and speaking engagements within the region.
- Work with the internal wholesaler (Associate) to maximize territory sales coverage.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree required
- CIMA or CFA certification desirable
- 5-10 years experience in the financial industry with 3-5 years direct outside intermediary sales experience with a mutual fund, separate account, or hedge fund distributor
- Preference to those who have previously covered the
Western Canada with existing relationships and a strong reputation among the advisory community - Ability to develop relationships with clients/prospects and deliver ideas and information that will generate sales and assets
- Ability to travel as necessary
- Extensive knowledge of the full services brokerage market
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional sales presentation skills
- High energy, self motivated individual, commitment to excellence
- Ability to work in a team environment is critical
