We at Unilever are currently recruiting for a Business Development Representative within our Food solutions side of the business, this individual will have a real passion for food and will provide a combination of face-to-face selling, customer relationship management and ingredient demonstrations to exploit new and established customers and grow the total Unilever Food solutions business.
The Business Development Representative will manage the Norwich, Cambridge and Bury St Edmunds Territory.

Main Job Purpose:
Using a combination of face-to-face selling, customer relationship management and ingredient demonstrations to exploit new and established customers and grow the total Unilever Food solutions business. Along with this, the ability to sample ingredients and present relevant concepts in order to generate interest and sales within all customer channels.
Key Accountabilities:
Maximise sales of Unilever Food Solutions ingredients to ensure achievement of divisional and personal targets.
• Ensure accounts are serviced and maintained to the required standards in order to achieve the required growth objectives.
• Ensure all designated operator accounts are called in line with the company call strategy.
• Able to demonstrate and sample our range of Food Solutions ingredients to all relevant customers.
• Maintain liaison with Distributive, Marketing and Operator Chain Account Management Teams, reporting any information relating to trade/customer activity that could affect the business and also being responsible for implementing any tailored activity agreed by said teams.
• Utilise the Food Solutions Siebel database system (sales reporting system) in order to provide quick and accurate information relating to customers, orders and personal activities, which must be communicated to the head office on a daily basis.
• Completing all relevant documentation and return within set time lines as required by the business.
Attend all Regional Sales Meetings to delivery the following.
• Report on individual performance.
• Share successes and development areas with colleagues.
• Action new drive brand/campaigns as dictated by Food Solutions Marketing Distributive / Operator Chain Account teams.
Key Relationships:
Internal - Sales Manager, Regional Team, Telebusiness, Administration and Culinary.
External - Customer Care Line, Wholesale partners and End user customers.
Key Performance Indicators:
• Able to achieve quarterly sales targets in line with company strategy.
• Account generation of new business
Skills/ Experience/ Qualifications:
· A real interest and passion for food
· Strong Selling Skills, ideally within a customer focused environment
Highly motivated and an ambitious individual, who can demonstrate the wiliness to learn and succeed
• Excellent Questioning and Listening Skills
• The ability to negotiate customer deals and at times in conjunction with Distributive Account and Wholesale Partners
• Good communication skills
• The ability to work well on your own and also as part of a team
• Good organisational and diary management skills
• Proven ability to develop customer relationships
• IT Literate in Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
Additional Information:
• Travel and overnights required occasionally
• Must hold UK driving licence
