Business Development Representative - Pharmaceutical Industry
Kelly Scientific Resources has an opening for a Technical Business Development Representative at a pharmaceutical company in Bend OR. Primary responsibilities of this position include business development, sales and client support for the laboratory?s chemistry services. The position requires a technical background sufficient to assess client needs and industry trends in the pharmaceutical industry. Work is performed with considerable independence under the general direction of the General Laboratory Manager. The position requires excellent planning skills, initiative, and follow through. ESSENTIAL WORK ACTIVITIES: · Work directly with customers to ensure that initial inquiries lead to eventual orders, and continue to manage each project until final report delivery. · Responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities in the assigned market(s) such as; developing and maintaining relationships with customers through on-site visits and tradeshow attendance/participation, and surveying potential markets. · Work with the management team to assess the specifications of customer requests and the laboratory?s capabilities and capacity. · Investigate, report and discuss new products or technologies that are available in market. · Within limits prescribed by management, negotiate resolution of customer complaints or issues. · Record and inform relevant lab personnel of the status and resolution of customer complaints and/or issues with reported results. · Maintain the customer information database and keep records of customer communications. · Plan and summarize sales activities and submit reports to management as requested. REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE ? BS degree in Chemistry or a related field of science ? 3 or more years of experience in an applicable discipline in the pharmaceutical industry ? 3 or more years of customer service/ marketing and business development experience in a relevant field Kelly Scientific is a division of Kelly Services - an international, Fortune 500 Company with a reputation for excellence.
