Business Development Sales Engineer (BDSE): will increase sales by developing and fostering multi-level business relationship at “target” OEM and strategic end user customers. This multi-level “solution selling” approach targets relationship building both vertically and laterally within the customer. The goal is to develop a long term partnership, built on trust and long term commitment to mutual success.

This role is the primary resource for specifying and positioning all products within the target accounts. The BDSE is responsible for 15-20 Strategic Accounts, spending 80% of the business day working on penetrating those accounts and coordinating commercial engineer activities in the specification process. The BDSE is a peer to the sales organization, specializing in the “solution selling” and technical specification aspect of the selling / partnering process.

Substantially contribute to the aggressive growth strategy of our organization by achieving business development and sales goals. 
· Identify key engineering firms and system integrator partners (maximum 3-5) within region of responsibility. 
· Proactively coordinate with commercial engineer to foster long-term preferred vendor alliances. 
· Participate in Trade Shows and Industry Events as required 

BS in Electrical, Mechanical, or Automation Engineering 
Five years progressive sales experience in Motion Control products as they relate to Automation Equipment and Manufacturing Plant Floor environments. 
· Demonstrated strategic sales experience with large accounts. Background in “Solution Selling” strategies 
(ex: Miller Heiman, Frank Watts, Michael Bosworth, Keith Eades, etc.). 
· Understanding of legacy and emerging industrial communication protocols. 
· Functional knowledge of commissioning, optimizing, and base-lining automation products.
