Business Development Sales – Regulatory and Safety


Technical sales lead focused on assisting with enterprise sales for the Strategic Regulatory and Safety group
Key regions of focus will the the northeastern United States but will need to partner with the business unit and other business developers to sell services to strategic and key accounts.

Establish and execute a territory sales plan to actively generate new business opportunities
Be an aggressive "hunter" of new customers in obtaining job orders for contract, contract-to-hire, and direct hire vacancies
Conduct a high level of face-to-face client / prospect meetings, telephone sales calls, and other revenue generating activities in assigned territory to meet all company and territory financial objectives
Identify, qualify and record leads, contact information and notes regarding the new or ongoing development of new or existing client targets
Negotiate and execute services agreements with client companies
Research and submit RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, MSAs, etc. and all other instruments that would contribute to contractual arrangements to conduct business
Build a comprehensive database and network of client and prospect contacts in your territory and collaborate on any global / national accounts.
Increase visibility by joining and participating in local and national industry-related professional organizations
Represent OptumInsight Life Sciences at relevant local / national trade shows, seminars, training sessions, etc.
May manage / coach other Business Development team members - Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field required, MBA or equivalent preferred
- In-depth knowledge of and experience within the pharmaceutical industry, with knowledge of regulatory, pharmacovigilance, epidemiology and saftety.
- 10+ Years progressive health services, pharmaceutical, or related experience
- 7+ Years successful sales experience
- Demonstrated teamwork and leadership skills
- Proven consultative selling skills with demonstrated sales forecast achievement

- Three + years of solutions selling experience and ability to function successfully within a team environment
- Solid understanding and demonstrated execution of the sales process
- Proven ability to deliver results against established financial targets
- Knowledge of the clinical trials research process gained through working for a clinical research staffing company, contract research organization, pharmaceutical / biotech / medical device company, or other related industries
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
