Job Description:

The Capital Markets team at KPMG are looking for Principal Advisors with proven experience gained through advising clients within the Capital Markets / Investment Banking sector.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Capital Markets team advise clients in the following areas:

- Risk Finance Transformation - focus on alignment of Risk, Finance and Treasury Operating Model, Process and Technology
- Front Office change - MI, process, platform and product profitability
- Liquidity - Internal product funding, ILAA/Daily Liquidity Reporting
- Market/Credit Risk change - Closer alignment of risk, finance and operations functions
- Capital/RWA - Effective management/mitigation eg Collateral Management
- LEAN - Improving process efficiency
- Quality Close - Reducing reporting speed and improving control
- Sourcing - Location strategy, Effectiveness of Shared Services/CoE

Qualifications and Skills
- A track record of delivering high quality projects with a focus on delivering measurable business improvements.
- Deep knowledge of Investment Banking or Capital Markets products and processes, in particular experience in Financial Management or Risk Management functions.
- Broad personal networks across several Investment Banking or Capital Markets organisations to create new business development opportunities.
- Comfortable leading business development initiatives including bid, proposal and contract/commercial negotiation
- Managing a team of KPMG professionals on client engagements and providing leadership and shaping delivery approach
- Coaching team members to ensure excellent client delivery whilst also enabling their career development
- Acting as a subject matter expert in advising clients to maximise benefits while reducing risks
- Managing competing agendas/priorities and establish achievable programmes/projects
- Report to and demonstrate diplomacy when managing key stakeholders
- Use your expertise, knowledge and experience to further develop and promote the core Business Effectiveness propositions
- Take a significant role in the growth of the team and wider practice, sharing knowledge and supporting the development of other team members

Experience and Background

We expect Principal Advisors to have experience in the following areas:
- Operational strategy transformation.
- Target operating model review, design and implementation.
- Regulatory driven change
- Functional architecture review design.
- Operational process improvements.
- Product Distribution strategy transformation.
- Operations integration following a merger, takeover or separation
- Passionate about your discipline with a history of continuous learning
- Commercial awareness evidenced by an ability to identify business opportunities
- Drive and resilience to overcome challenges or setbacks
- Strong communicator able to build lasting client relationships
