Business Finance Analyst
The Business Finance team is critical to helping senior managers understand the business of investment management at BlackRock. We advise and produce budgets, short and long range forecasts; create and analyze business metrics and identify cost savings opportunities; deliver economic insight into the relationships between costs and revenues to improve the financial success of the business going forward. We are a valued and critical component of the management function, working at all levels of BlackRock to provide both a broad and deep understanding of the firm's financial position and opportunities.
BlackRock currently seeks an Analyst to join the Business Finance team based in San Francisco. The candidate's primary responsibility would be to drive business reporting and to assess the underlying drivers of changes in these metrics. Specific responsibilities include:
Job Description:
- Participate in the monthly forecast and close processes as well as annual planning.
- Prepare and coordinate the monthly variance analysis of actuals, budgets, and forecasts.
- Maintain and manage business specific performance fee calculations and analysis.
- Participate and/or lead team-wide projects including financial modeling, ad hoc analysis, and delivery of automated solutions for reporting.
- Prepare periodic financial reports (ie: weekly, monthly) for the Investment Group and Finance senior management. Continuously look for ways to enhance reporting with forward-looking and insightful information.
- Enhance various processes on behalf of the Investment Finance team.
- Develop and deliver presentations for senior management.
- Liaise with Central Finance, Accounting and Human Resources, as needed, on key deliverables.
- Contribute to solving problems as part of a multi faceted team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or equivalent degree
- 2 years professional experience
- Strong quantitative and problem solving skills
- Organized with strong follow through and execution
- Solid communicator: verbal, written and presentation
- Advanced Excel, PowerPoint and multi-dimensional analytical tool skills a plus, or a willingness and ability to gain these skills
- Demonstrated ability to work/navigate in a large organization.
