Amazon is looking for an outstanding Data Engineer to join the Instant Video team. Amazon.com sells millions of digital items through its websites and connected devices program. In order to evaluate the performance of the business and make the best forward looking decisions, we need to store and analyze huge sets of data related to purchase and consumption of digital content.
As a data engineer on this team, you will get the exciting opportunity to work on very large data sets in one of the world's largest and most complex data warehouse environments. You will work closely with the business and technical teams in analysis on many non-standard and unique business problems and use creative-problem solving to deliver actionable output. Your work will have a direct impact on the day-to-day decision making in the Instant Video team.

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, and 3--5 years of relevant employment experience.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Expert knowledge of SQL and databases
- Experience with Oracle and Linux
- Deep expertise in the design, creation, management and business use of extremely large datasets.
- Excellent communication skills to be able to work with business owners to develop and define key business questions, and to build data sets that answer those questions.
- Expert at designing, implementing, and operating solutions to flow data from production systems into the data warehouse and to extract data from the warehouse to be used by end-user facing applications.
- Above all you should be passionate about working with huge data sets and someone who loves to bring datasets together to answer business questions and drive change.
- Knowledge in using OLAP technologies and BI Analytics is preferable
- Experience providing technical customer service or user support
- Experience designing and delivering technical training
