Shepell.fgi’s industry-leading employee assistance program supports employees and eligible family members in assessing their work, life, and health issues, and is delivered in-person, telephonically, through e-counselling, video counseling, First Chat, and our myEAP mobile application.

Our Business Intelligence Analyst’s main objective is to provide statistical reporting to meet contractual reporting requirements for external clients to meet or exceed the commitments for quality and timeliness. Reporting is provided to internal customers including Senior Account Managers, Business Development, Marketing, Finance, and Executive. Strong analytical skills will be used to determine special reporting needs and develop the appropriate templates and reports to satisfy these special requests. The role is also to assist with selecting, blueprinting, gathering requirements, designing, and rolling out BI solutions to end users. Overall, it is the job of the BI Analyst to ensure high levels of business intelligence availability through support functions and in-depth testing.

Additional responsibilities will include:
• Creating standard reports for both internal and external clients
• Creating custom or ad hoc reports for both internal and external clients
• Liaising with internal stakeholders to conduct analysis for determination of content and attributes to fulfill requests for reports
• Resolving data and analytical problems quickly and efficiently
• Writing queries and macros to automate reporting functions
• Proofing and validating report contents for accuracy
• Maintaining and confirming the quality of data in the data repositories
• Working with the various departments to determine how use of Corporate data can be used to establish a competitive advantage
• Understanding customer requirements to facilitate a quality customer experience
• Development and use of meaningful metrics to drive a high performance culture
• Ability to work independently

Succeeding as a Business Intelligence Analyst will require the following core qualifications and skills:

Education:
• Related post-secondary degree, diploma or equivalent experience
• Post secondary education in Business Administration is an asset
• College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or computer engineering

Experience:
• Knowledge of statistical concepts and trending analysis
• Experience with tier-one applications such as MS SQL Server, Crystal and Access is an asset
• Demonstrated ability with MS Windows
• Experience with Crystal Report development
• Advance MS Excel proficiency
• Strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices
• Experience with data processing flowcharting techniques
• Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities
• Strong understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Strong presentation and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytic skills
• Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

Knowledge/Skills:

• Fluency in English and French required

• Excellence in problem solving to resolve data errors and determine the best approach to meet expected client outcomes
• Demonstrated strength in communication
