- Design, configure and build data warehouse and business intelligence environments that provide reporting and information ability that meet business initiatives while optimize databases and tool environments for maximum performance.
- Consult with business users and technical design teams to prepare detailed design specifications including file structures, database models, and ETL rules which include preparing timelines for completion of each project along with requirements for hardware, software and personnel to complete the project. Deliver projects according to project plans and resources.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the data sources, targets and models and their use. Clearly define, amend, and communicate the value of the resultant information for use by the business and technical communities.
- Provide the end user community with the documentation, training, and support required for them to complete their duties in the most competent and concise manner possible.
- Maintain a body of knowledge in all areas of database, data warehousing, ETL, business intelligence and reporting tools hosted locally and remotely to support ongoing decisions and implementation strategies. Provide and execute strategic plans that correlate with the business goals for decision support and business intelligence.
- Assist in the coordination and management of any YCC or third party contracted staff in the maintenance of data warehouse and business intelligence systems.
- Ensure data integrity by using best practice tools and procedures. Create and implement audit processes that provide maximum availability and security of the environments
- Provide support for the Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence tool sets and users of each. Support will include on call responsibilities for production environments.
- Bachelor's degree (preferably MIS or Statistics, or Mathematics) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 6-8 years of data processing experience with at least 4 years in a Data Warehouse, Business Intelligence or Database Analyst; knowledge of current database, data warehouse themes, operating systems, hardware platforms, and Business Intelligence toolsets is required.
- Oracle and SQL relational database modeling competency is required. Knowledge of current operating system(s) and hardware platform(s) is desirable and well as experience with Business Objects administration and Oracle Warehouse Builder skills.
- Above average time management, documentation and organizational skills are expected.
- Highly developed oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
Flexibility is required, with the ability to work extended hours, weekends or holidays as operational needs require.
